The third season of IPL started on 12 March 2010 and ended on 25 April 2010. A total of 74 matches were played over 53 days in twelve venues across India and one venue in South Africa. It was also the first time that a game was held outside India when Deccan Chargers defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore at Centurion, South Africa on 12 April 2010.
